Artwork & File Requirements
To help us produce the best possible result, please review these artwork guidelines before submitting files to Signs Designs, DTF Transfers & More. Properly prepared artwork helps prevent delays, sizing issues, unwanted backgrounds, and poor print quality.
General File Requirements
For most print projects, we recommend:
-
300 DPI resolution
-
Artwork created at the final print size
-
Clean, high-quality graphics
-
Correct spelling and dimensions
-
No unwanted backgrounds or objects
-
No screenshots or low-resolution web images
-
Transparent backgrounds when required
-
All important artwork kept inside the printable area
For large-format projects such as signs, banners, decals, and vehicle graphics, high-quality vector artwork is preferred whenever available.
Preferred File Types
Depending on the product, we can work with common professional artwork formats including:
PNG — Preferred for DTF transfers and transparent artwork
PDF — Recommended for many print and large-format projects
SVG / EPS / AI — Preferred when vector artwork is available
JPG / JPEG — Accepted when supplied at high resolution
If you are unsure which format to send, contact us before placing your order.
DTF Transfer Artwork
For DTF printing, we recommend:
File Type: PNG preferred
Resolution: 300 DPI recommended
Background: Transparent
Maximum Width: 33.5 inches
Sizing: Submit artwork at the exact size you want printed
Your artwork should have clean edges and should not contain white boxes, unwanted backgrounds, stray pixels, or other elements you do not want printed.
Do Not Mirror Your Artwork
Please submit DTF artwork in its normal orientation unless specifically instructed otherwise. Any necessary mirroring will be handled during production.
DTF Gang Sheet Requirements
When creating or uploading a gang sheet:
-
Maximum printable width is 33.5"
-
Keep every design fully inside the sheet
-
Do not overlap designs
-
Leave reasonable spacing between designs
-
Verify the size of every individual design
-
Remove unwanted duplicates
-
Check spelling and orientation
-
Use transparent backgrounds
-
Upload the highest-quality artwork available
Once submitted, your gang sheet will generally be produced according to the layout and sizing provided.
Signs & Banners
For signs, banners, and other large-format graphics, vector artwork is preferred whenever possible because it can be enlarged without losing quality.
Recommended formats include:
PDF, AI, EPS, or SVG
High-resolution PNG or JPG files may also work depending on the final print size.
Please provide:
-
Final dimensions
-
High-resolution artwork
-
Correct logos and brand colors
-
Any required bleed or finishing instructions
-
Placement details when applicable
Large-format artwork may not always require 300 DPI at full size, so contact us if you are preparing an especially large file.

Please provide:
-

-

-

Artwork containing gradients, very small details, or many colors may require adjustments before production.
Fonts & Text

This helps prevent:
-
Missing fonts
-
Font substitutions
-
Unexpected layout changes
Always proofread names, phone numbers, websites, dates, and other important information before submitting your artwork.
Color Accuracy
Colors displayed on phones and computer monitors may differ slightly from printed colors.
Factors such as:
-
Screen settings
-
RGB versus CMYK color spaces
-

-
Lighting
can affect the final appearance.
If exact brand color matching is critical, please contact us before production.
